Meteorological spring has arrived in the capital.

The Central Geophysical Observatory named after Boris Sreznevsky reports that according to observations of the combined hydrometeorological station Kyiv, since March 1, the average daily air temperature has been consistently above 0°C. Meteorological spring has come to Kyiv, which is within the climatic norm.
The meteorological winter, which, according to the calculations of the observatory's climatologists, began on December 24 and ended on February 28, lasted 67 days, which is 25 days less than the average long-term indicators.

"Climate of Kyiv and its surroundings"

   Information on regular weather observations in Kyiv, which have been ongoing since the 19th centuary, is provided. Much attention was paid to comprehensive description of such climatic parameters as air temperature, amount of precipitation, duration and height of snow cover, wind speed, air humidity, etc. Climate changes that have occurred over a long period are shown. The features of the climate of Kyiv, which differs from the climate of the surrounding territory, are highlighted. A desription of atmospheric phenomena is given.
