Meteorological data for Ukraine


In August 2023, winds from the southeast, west, and northwest prevailed in Kyiv, which is typical for this month according to long-term data. The prevailing wind speed was 1-2 m/s. On August 7, the maximum wind speed reached 16 m/s.

May was dry.
The average monthly temperature was close to normal, only in most of the western and Vinnytsia regions it was 1.1-2.1° above normal, and in Kharkiv and Odesa regions it was 1.1-1.6° below normal in some places.
The minimum temperature ranged from 5° Celsius to 4° Celsius, with 6-8° Celsius on the Black Sea coast in some places; the maximum temperature was 23-31° Celsius, with 18-20° Celsius in the highlands of the Carpathians. On May 24, in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Chernivtsi regions, the absolute value of the maximum temperature for this day for the entire observation period was exceeded.
Fallfalls fell insufficiently 20-79%, in some places, in addition to rainfall, most of the outlying and Zhytomyr regions, 3-19% of the monthly norm; in Odessa, Mykolayiv, Cherkasy regions the norm is now normal. Overhead (5th grade) fire safety was observed 1-2 years in similar and Dnipropetrovsk regions, 3-31 years in most regions of Ukraine. Only 7-31 hernias in Transcarpathian, 21-31 hernias in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk (29-31 hernias in Odessa and Chernivetska) regions were on the day.
